We are now officially seeking expressions of interest from volunteers and potential project co-ordinators to drive forward Chapter 2 of our ‘Working in Mortgages’ initiative – where you can help make the mortgage industry a better place to work for everyone.
Thank you to all who attended our ‘Get Involved’ webinar on why and how you should join us. For those who couldn’t make it, below is a snapshot of our Q&A session. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Is this just open to intermediaries, or can representatives from lenders get involved?
Edit Content
This is a joint venture with the Intermediary Lenders’ Association (IMLA), so the doors are open to absolutely anyone from the mortgage world who wants to join – including brokers, lenders, technology providers and more!
If we were part of Chapter 1, do we need to re-sign up for Chapter 2?
Edit Content
It’s not mandatory, however this form will help us see what people are looking to get out of their involvement, what skills they can contribute, and what projects / issues they are interested in tackling. So, we would encourage everyone, longstanding and new, to submit a response.
What kind of support is needed, and how will roles be allocated?
Edit Content
This will partly be determined by the interests and abilities of our volunteer pool, and there will be some freedom to define your own role and how you want to contribute. If you’re stuck for ideas, our latest blog, ‘100+ ways to make the mortgage industry a better place’ gives an overview of the suggestions to come out of our recent Visioning Day, where we got together to discuss key priorities for improving our industry 1 year on from the AMI Viewpoint report.
The blog also provides a link to the 5 core principles we’re organising our activities around – Visibility, Outreach, Impact, Community and Deliverability – this gives a bigger picture view on what we’re looking to achieve in 2023 and beyond.
I want to be part of the mentoring scheme, how can I get involved?
Edit Content
If you sign up using the volunteer form, you will automatically be added to our mailing list and therefore will receive updates on the mentoring scheme as soon as they arrive. Or if you want to be added to the list without volunteering, please drop us a message.
You don’t need to know specifics of how you could contribute at this stage, though if you can give us a sense of what you’re interested in via the volunteer form, this will help us see where there is appetite for certain projects. This will help us establish new groups and assign roles accordingly.
If you have any other questions we haven’t answered here, please contact us and we’ll answer as best we can.
